Being Brave

Hey Everyone!

I am trying to be brave and start up one of my interests: photography. I have been taking a few shots here and there, practically begging people to be my subjects and models. Thank heavens I have wonderful family members who graciously endure a photo session with me for an evening of their lives. :) It's been challenging and super fun, but I'd sure appreciate some feedback (honest but not too brutal) before I start my own site and try to get more people on the books. If it doesn't work out: oh well. Life goes on and I can always learn to knit.

Hey girl! I think that is awesome that you are getting into photography! You are more brave than me! I have always wanted to do it but never have! I love the pictures thus far! Maybe Hayden and Cache can be your little GQ model subjects! :)

I think they look great! I especially like the way you've Photoshopped a few of them. Way to go on developing your talents!

So you're pretty amazing!!! Next time we come down, you're SOOO going to do some family pictures for us!!!

My only suggestion: Make them BIGGER so I don't have to put on binocks to see them! :) I love the fun effects you've done with them...

Are you using Photoshop? Pioneer Woman has some sweet actions, but you apparently know exactly what you're doing already!

Way to go!!!

Wow! Those are really good! You'll need to show me how to use my camera when I get back. And ps I'm not going to comment on your "Lake Powell" post because I'm still a little bitter I didn't get to go.

I like them! Well done! :) I would only say it seemed like the effect of the black edging (I don't know how to describe it) was used a lot. You rock! :)

I'm jealous. I would LOVE to become a great photographer, but I just don't think i have a natural talent for it like you do. What kind of camera do you have? What photo editing program do you use?

Hey love! I really do love your photos. I agree with the above comment..the black vignette looks great, but you should try editing some without it. You'll be surprised how great the photos will still look. You should also try a clear edge blur\ vignette I think you would like it! I say keep up this fun talent of yours! You'll be surprised where word of mouth can get you! I never thought I would be where I am now with photography! It's a fun hobby to have! :) I can't wait to see more of your pictures!

Oh, I forgot to add... Vignettes always make a picture look better and just complete. However, I'd suggest lowering the oppacity so the vignette is more subtle on some.

P.S. I expect an answer to those photo questions! :)
